Welcome to Financial You. Let’s Talk Money.

What Is This Place?

Let's face it: money can be complex and intimidating. Earning it, growing it, and even talking about it are often topics we're taught to avoid.

Money isn't just about spreadsheets. It's about psychology, habits, and our personal stories. This is a space for candid, judgment-free conversations about it all. Here, we’ll unpack the big topics in simple terms, explore our own mindsets, and focus on making steady, meaningful progress—not chasing perfection.

Is This For You?

This space is for you if...

  • You find the world of personal finance can be overwhelming and you're looking for a clear, jargon-free guide.

  • You don't just want to learn financial facts; you want to connect the dots and understand what they mean for your life.

  • You believe in learning how to fish, not just being given a fish. You want frameworks to think for yourself, not a list of commands to follow.

  • You're at any stage of your journey—from your first paycheck to planning for retirement—and want to build a more mindful, confident relationship with your finances.

What you won't find here: This isn't the place for 'buy this stock' recommendations or quick-fix financial hacks. I won't tell you exactly what to do. Also, while the principles here are helpful, this publication is not designed for those in a deep debt crisis, as my experience in that specific area is limited.

If this sounds like you, you're in the right place.

Meet Your Guide, Rodrigo

Hey there, I'm Rodrigo! By day, I work in finance, helping businesses make smart decisions with their numbers. But my real passion is empowering people like you to navigate the world of personal finance.

Growing up in Brazil and now living in the US since 2018, I've seen firsthand how our culture shapes our relationship with money. A surprising common thread? We just don't talk about it enough! My own journey started thanks to my grandma, who taught me the power of responsible saving early on.

I started this publication to create a space for the open, honest money conversations I wish I'd had sooner. I'm not a guru with all the answers. I'm a fellow enthusiast who has made his own mistakes (like that one stock I was sure would skyrocket!) and learned from them. I'm here to share my frameworks, my perspective, and what I'm learning along the way.

You can learn more about my professional background and connect with me on LinkedIn.

For a topic that touches every part of our lives, it's amazing how little we talk about money. I write to spark the open, honest money conversations I wish I'd had sooner.
